Contextual Filters

When building a mission in GoSpotCheck, you can add filters for any task property in your missions. But sometimes, you might also want to filter by other task responses in the same mission. Here’s an example:

In the example above, you might want to filter photos submitted for question 2 by apple variety (e.g. "only show me photos containing displays with "Honeycrisp" or "Gala" apples").

What they are: Context Filters allow admins, in partnership with your CSM team, to create associations between certain response-type tasks and photo tasks within the same mission. Qualifying task types include:

  • Yes/No
  • Multiple Choice
  • Multiple Select
  • Searchable List
  • Count
  • Price

Those task responses then become available as filterable fields in PhotoWorks. Users can then slice and sort photos not just by standard metadata (date, location, user, etc.) but by the actual answers collected alongside the photos.

Why it's useful: Contextual filters add meaningful business context to photos. For example, if a field rep answers "Is this a cold box display?" (yes/no) right before taking a photo, that yes/no answer can then become a filter in PhotoWorks — so a manager could later pull up only photos where the rep said "yes."

The same applies to things like product category (multiple choice), channel type (multiple select), or a specific product categories (searchable list), case count reported by the rep (count), or promo price points (price).

The result: Photos become much more actionable and searchable beyond just time and place — you can filter by what was actually happening in the field when the photo was taken.

Talk to your CSM today for more details on getting Contextual Filters enabled for your PhotoWorks account.
