Capturing Images: Using Narrow Aisle Mode

Capturing with Narrow Aisles Mode Enabled

For shelf capture in aisles that are particularly narrow, follow these steps to get an accurate photo without too much trouble.

Watch our quick training video to follow along, or use the step-by-step guide below to get started.

STEP 1

  • Tap "+" to start.
  • Toggle “Narrow Aisles Mode” on.
  • Tap the middle tile with the + to begin capturing. You will be prompted to start capturing afterward.

STEP 2

  • Take a picture.
  • Tap the circle button at the bottom to capture the image. Try and fit the full height of the shelf in one image. If you don’t have enough room, you can start by capturing the top half of the shelf.
  • It’s typically easiest to start from the left end of the shelf.

STEP 3

  • Tap where you want to go next.
  • Tap the next tile you want to capture. This will indicate the direction you want to move and the section of the shelf you capture next.
  • It’s up to you which tile you select. If you can fit the full height in one frame, just keep moving to the right.
  • Otherwise, we recommend capturing the top half, then the bottom half, then move to the right and repeat from the top half.

STEP 4

  • Capture your next photo.
  • All subsequent photos after the first will give you a semi-transparent view of the previous image, helping you to line it up with the previous photo you took.
  • Once it’s lined up, tap the button at the bottom to take the photo.

STEP 5

  • Use Narrow Aisle Mode if your path is obstructed.
  • Click the “Next Segment” icon (parallel bars with plus sign) to indicate that you’re stepping closer to the shelf for the next set of images.
  • A new section appears between the +/- magnifying glass icons.
  • Tap the + camera icon to begin capturing.

STEP 6

  • Tap where you want to go next.
  • Like before, a semi-transparent image of your last photo will help you line it up, but it doesn’t need to be perfect.
  • Tap the next tile you want to capture. This will indicate the direction you want to move and the section of the shelf you capture next.

STEP 7

  • Start a new section once you’re past the obstruction.
  • Like before, click the “Next Segment” icon (parallel bars with plus sign) to indicate that you’re capturing at a different distance from the shelf (back to the distance that you started at).

STEP 8

  • Continue to capture the shelf.
  • Use the “Next Segment” icon to indicate any changes in your distance from the shelf as needed.
  • Tap Finish to complete your shelf capture. Or, tap Next Grid to capture other shelf sections.
